Guu drifted into a pasture.

The cows there were playing freely,
doing as they pleased.

“This is so fun I might explode!”
cried a plump cow.

“It looks like you’re having a wonderful time,”
Guu said, greeting her.

The cow glared at Guu.

“You may look harmless,
but don’t think you can join our party!”

A young cow whispered quietly:

“The truth is…
we know that one day
we will be eaten by humans.

So we pretend to be happy—
just to forget.”
