When Guu’s clumsy song—
“Guu… guu… guu…”—was heard,
everyone fell into a pleasant sleep.
And when they awoke,
they felt refreshed and full of life.
Since long ago,
I have suffered from insomnia.
It continues even now.
On long sleepless nights,
I found myself imagining
a gentle, transparent being—Guu.
It was also
a symbol of pure innocence.
I had always felt, vaguely,
that true freedom
is something soft, indistinct, and transparent.
Guu seemed to be like that.
Guu did nothing.
It simply drifted with the wind,
singing its awkward song.
And yet,
just by hearing “Guu… guu… guu…,”
people on Earth felt at peace.
Perhaps,
the moment people begin to think too much,
they lose their freedom.
And so—
if one lets oneself be as natural as Guu,
one might discover true freedom.
