Seven—and One—Fables That May Keep You Awake
If You Read Them on a Sleepless Night — Chapter Seven

Guu came to a village suffering from drought.

The river had dried up,
and the grass, the trees, and the fields
were withering away.

Feeling sorry for them,
Guu pulled a small rain cloud from the sky
and let a little rain fall.

The penguins and the crocodiles
were delighted.

“Even just getting wet
feels wonderful.
Thank you, Guu.”

But the villagers complained.

“A cloud that small
is of no use at all.

Bring us
a much larger rain cloud.”

Guu thought
their anger was understandable.

So it went
to the southern sea
in search of a larger cloud.
